My 12 month old loves this bookJun 28, 2010
She got it for her first birthday and was intrigued by how the lamb moves while turning pages. Besides the cardboard boxes, this was probably her favorite thing to play with from her first birthday. At least for the first 2-3 weeks. Then the binding came loose and she figured out it was our finger and not "alive" and lost it's initial novelty. She does still like it and I'm very glad we have it in our collection of books on her shelf. Had she gotten it when she was a bit younger, the novelty may have lasted longer. But she's a curious one and is always moving on to the next thing. So that this kept her interest, so intensely, for at least 2-3 weeks is proof that it's a fun book!

Babies and little kids love the interaction with the lamb puppet in the book's center. The board book is easy to read--especially if it becomes a baby favorite and needs to be read over and over and over.
The entire series seems to fascinate babies and young toddlers. Try the set: Finger Puppet Friends boxed set: Little Duck, Little Ladybug, Little Lamb, and Little Bee! (Finger Puppet Brd Bks) if you want to thrill your baby or toddler.

This is a darling little book that is great for a small baby, but even a toddler will enjoy it. The little lamb finger puppet is poking through the book and the reader can move it around and have it talk to the child and and act out the words in the book, to an extent. My 18 month old just loves to push the lamb's head back through the book and then have me "surprize" him by popping the head back through quickly. He thinks that is funny!

THE RHYMES ARE GREAT! THE PERSONIFICATION IS ALSO! THIS BOOK IS FOR THE VERY YOUNG, BUT I'M SURE SHALL CARRY INTO TODDLERHOOD! THE ATTACHED FINGER PUPPET IS PRETTY & SOFT AND THE ILLUSTRATIONS ARE BRIGHT & LIVELY!

My favorite part about this cardboard book is the little finger puppet stuck in the middle of every page! It's a perfect board book for a 2-3, even 4-year-old as it's also strengthening fine motor muscles!
