Great book for art.Sep 28, 2009 As a kindergarten art teacher, this book is great for teaching young children about mixing colors.
Perfect introduction to color!Jul 24, 2009 This book was written by a woman who really understands art and young children, and is excellent at creating books that delight and educate them. Mouse paint is the perfect introduction to color, and the illustrations show that Ms. Stoll Walsh is a also a talented artist; the mice are precious! I send this to all of the children of my friends and family.
It does what it is meant to doJun 07, 2009 The book is just about three mice who mix up colors to make other colors. As an adult, I honestly find it a little painful to read. But my son, who is just turning four, loves the book. It's one of his favorites. Now, whenever we paint, he specifically sets out to mix the paints and make new colors. I think this falls into that category of books that succeed in the specific task they were written for. Just as Good Night Moon was written specifically to give parents a bedtime routine that ended in actual sleeping, this book was written to teach kids about mixing colors. It does that, and it does it very well.
MOUSE PAINT BOOK REVIEWFeb 17, 2009 I Purchased this book for my almost 2 year old granddaughter to teach her colors. The book is entertaining but I did not think it was a very good book to teach colors. My granddaughter was only mildly interested in it.
A ClassicAug 28, 2008 Love this book. The large lap-sized board book style is wonderful way to enjoy the colors. Simple, but fun story demonstrating color mixing. Great illustrations. Has inspired many painting projects by my 2 year old!
I also recommend Mouse Shapes by same author.
